What Home Means To Me

What Home Means To Me Everyone needs a home. Home is a roof over your head. Home is a place that is your own. Home is where you keep all of your belongings. It’s a place to play and have fun. But, home is more than just the place you live, it’s about how you feel. Home is also a place where you can rest and not feel overwhelmed with the world. Home is a place that you feel safe. Home is where you feel happy. Home is wherever your family is. Everyone needs a home. I have a home that I like very much. I like how my house is decorated. I like the plants. I like my backyard. My favourite place in my house is my room because it is peaceful and private and I do not have to listen to my parents talk. In my room, it’s my rules, except for eating candy in my room. I like my room because it is colorful. I like the colors my room is painted and I chose the colors. All of my stuff is in my room. Everyone needs a home, but not everyone has a home. Some people can’t afford a home. Some people live in places that don’t always feel like home, like people in Long-Term Care Homes. It might not feel like home because they don’t live with their families, they don’t get to take all of their belongings, and they can’t change how their home looks. They don’t always get to make decisions about how things are, the rules, what they eat, and who they live with. Everyone needs a home. Everyone needs a physical place to live. But, also, people need a home that feels like their own. Even if they live in a long-term care home, Everyone deserves a room of their own. They deserve to make decisions, to have good food, to have proper care, and to see their families.
