Meaning of Home

Here I am in my bedroom in the middle of the night. The sun has gone down and it is almost pitch black outside. I can see my little brother sleeping in our bunk bed, his chest rising and falling slowly. I see my other family members fast asleep as I go to check on them. I can hear the gentle whisper of wind outside with the occasional car going by. I can hear the crickets and the bats trying to find moths outside. I can smell the fresh night air as I peek out of my window to see bats fly by. I can smell my mother and father having a piece of the banana cream pie that we made yesterday. I can taste the warm milk that I have before I go to bed along with a chocolate chip cookie. I can taste the adventures waiting to happen for the night creatures. I can feel the chilly but somehow warm night air. I can feel the mysteries out in the open night. I am happy to have a home where I can enjoy the wonders of the outdoors while having a place to go to when I’m done. I agree with the statement of “ home is where the heart is” because home is where my heart is. I love my home and so does my family. I have a lot of memories connected to my home like the time I was climbing a tree in my front yard and I fell. I was immediately rushed into my home to see if I was okay or not. I was okay and my home comforted me. The most important thing about a home is the love and memories in it. My home has lots of memories and love. I have 6 people who live in my home, so there is a lot of love. I have lived in my home for 6 years so there are also lots of memories. I remember when I tried to find the basket from the Easter bunny in our home. The Easter bunny always hides a basket for every kid in the house. He hides clues for us to follow. So anyway, I found my first clue in my bedroom and it said “ Go down underground but look up high in the sky and the next clue you will find.” After a moment of thinking I went downstairs in the basement and looked up. I found my next clue! This one said “Go to the room of your least favourite chore and you will find much more to be sure!” My least favorite chore was sorting the recycle so I went to my garage. Then I found the Easter basket! My home is really special to me, and now you know why I love my home!
