The Meaning of Home
When I was little, I used to think a home was a house, apartment, townhouse, etc. But now, in grade 5, I learned that a home isn’t actually a house (Well, it doesn’t have to be.), but a place where you spend quality time with your family and friends.
Home is where you spend quality time with your family and friends. Hugging and laughing, squeezing together in a cozy ball. It's where you hang out, or spend time with your loved ones, not necessarily crushes. What I mean is that home is basically a place where you spend time with people you actually love, like family, friends, or partners.
Home is a place that makes you feel happy, content, comfortable. Like when I rest in my bed, it feels all warm and cozy. Home makes you feel good. For example, your bed (If you have one) might be a special part of home, a spot that makes you feel good. What I’m trying to say is that home is a special place that makes you feel great.
Home is where memories are cherished with people or animals you love. An example of a cherished memory is when someone gets a dog for the first time. That can be a cherished memory. Home is where memories are created with people (or animals!) you love, like family, pets, or friends. For example, home is what you call a place where you and your family threw a huge Christmas party. The memory of throwing a huge Christmas party with your family is an example of a memory that is cherished.
In my younger days, I thought “home” was just a building someone lived in, like an apartment or a house. But now as a 5th grader, I’ve come to the understanding that a home doesn’t have to be like that.
