House Vs. Home

I think that there is a big difference between a house and a home. To me, the biggest difference is that I feel like a house is more of a physical thing. It’s four walls and a roof that protect you from wind and rain. A home however, is more of a feeling. The feeling a home should give you is a feeling of comfort and safety. You should feel protected by your family and surrounded by happy memories. Though a house and a home are very different, both are extremely important and essential. Without a house, you would be extremely exposed to all the wind, rain and any other natural forces. Without a home, you would be extremely lonely. You would feel vulnerable, unprotected and alone. Many are not lucky enough to be able to have a proper house. Their “home” may be the side, a park bench, a bush. That is the sad truth for too many people these days. Especially now with a global pandemic taking so many jobs and lives and sending too many people to the streets. But, thanks to people like those who organized this competition, things are starting to look up for the people who are homeless. There are plenty of ways to help the homeless but one way that is free is by joining this competition. Every time someone enters this competition, 5$ are donated and whoever wins gets a lot of money to donate to somewhere of their choice. It is so amazing that so much money is being spent to save people from the streets and I only wish there was any other way I could help.
