What Home Means

A home is where your heart lives A home is a where your soul lives Where nights are spent Tears are cried Unforgettable memories are made Meals are shared Loved ones gather Hopes and dreams live Joy spreads Songs are sung Everyone lives Full of life I grow up Eat meals Play Read Write I draw and draw Make messes And clean them up Where you grow up Broke the vase Hit your head Fought with siblings Went to bed Went to school My life wouldn’t be the same without The place we call home We share love We share joy We share hope We share dreams We all need a home A safe place to stay A place were we all feel wanted But some people Are alone Cold and fearful No one should have to feel We need to use our gifts To help and to heal As I look around now I feel blessed I have a home I have my friends I want to help I want to end The horrible truth That is homelessness Everyone can help You can help Believe me you can It doesn’t take much Just paper and pen If we all pitch in We might just help Give all a home A home with love A home isn’t a house It’s where you feel safe Loved Wanted Everything Home doesn’t mean house It means heart And as I look around now I know where I am I have grown I know where I am I am home.
