Home is All I Need

Home is a place where I live and sleep, There are memories that I will always keep. From swimming to dancing I will always remember, The loneliness and boredom I had in December. Coronavirus continues to spread, I can’t wait to see what is ahead. I am lucky have a roof over my head, With the sides made of solid brick red. And the front is the colour grey, And in the garden is a long stone pathway. A loving home and family is all I need, I seem to have run out of books to read. The warm meals are always set on the table, It is something that will make me grateful. This is home and it will always be, But thinking of the people who are forced to flee, They might not own a house, an apartment, or a shack, So they have to sleep and live where people don’t have their back. So go up to them and give them your change, I hope others will not see these people as humans that are strange. Their home is a street all dirty and cold, Unlike us who have a home to behold. I hope one day everyone will have a home to sleep, A place where they could rest their eyes and dream deep.
