What ‘Home’ Means To Me
What ‘home’ means to me is not just the house I live in, but my town, my province, my country, the country of my ancestors and so on. Home to me is where I feel like me. It is a place where I can blossom into exactly who I am meant to be someday. My home is somewhere I feel safe. Safe enough to speak in the tongue of my ancestors, for my family to walk in public without fear, and for both my mother and father to be treated equally, and with respect.
My house was not always a home. It was brought to life by my family and I, and eventually transformed into a home. Now, it is an incredibly special place to my family and I, and wherever I may go in life, and no matter how far, I will never, ever forget all the important moments I’ve had in my home. Nobody knows what the future holds for us, but no matter what, I know that I’ll be alright as long as I know my way back home.
