My Home, My World.
Home is not a structure, but a secure place where all my thoughts float free. Home is a feeling. It has meaning. It's a place to live freely and not care about what other people say or think. A place to build memories with friends, family, and loved ones. A place where anyone can truly be themselves.
As I think of home, I think of sleeping in on the first day of summer break, sitting by the fireplace on a glacial winter night, and Friday Movie Night with the family. I can feel the warmth and comfort from all my surroundings and I can feel my cozy couch. I am separated from the outside world, and inside my own world. It's where I belong. Where I eat, sleep and breathe. Yet, home isn’t one place. Home can be anywhere. Maybe it's your cousins house, a restaurant, a park, infinite possibilities. It's wherever you feel you truly belong. Home means everything. Without a home, I wouldn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t find a place to truly be myself. But this really happens to humans all over the world. And we need to stop it. We can make homes for people to feel secure, in a great facilitation, their own world. Where they can do whatever they want. A home can be cold or hot, high or low, small or big. It’s up to you.
What is your home like? Maybe you can feel the breeze of fresh air through your window. Maybe you can see a view of the whole city. But there are people out there, waiting to find their home. That is why I entered this contest for others without a home, to experience such a feeling. Even if I don’t win, I am proud that I can put 10 dollars into this foundation. 10 dollars towards other human beings' safety and comfort. That is my submission for Habitat For Humanity.
