The Meaning of Home

A home is much more than wood and bricks. It is a place that I live with my family and a place that my friends come to visit. It is a place where I am growing, learning and becoming me. Many different aspects of my home are creating who I am as a person. The most important things in my home are the people I share my home with, the experiences we have, the memories we share and the feelings we have for one another. All these things combined make my home and in some ways are the building blocks for me. The people I share my home with are helping shape who I am. My dad teaches me to fix things and teaches me patience. My mom gives me hugs which gives me compassion. My brothers play w me and make me laugh giving me a sense of humour. The experiences we have are good and sometimes bad. The good experiences teach me how things can go well, and the bad experiences teach me how things can go wrong and how to fix them. The memories we create in our home make me feel happy, proud, embarrassed and warm. These memories are important because I will be able to look back on them and learn from them or gain strength from them. I am very grateful to have a home full of people I love, great experiences and memories. All these things are shaping who I am, and I am very blessed to have a warm, caring, happy, fun home that will provide me with the building blocks of my future.
