Meaning of Home

Meaning of Home When I think about a house I think of walls, a roof, and windows. I think of a place filled with all my favourite things such as my X-Box, T.V. , comfy couch, my dog, my cat, and a bunch of furniture. When I am asked to think about the meaning of home, it is not just a place. To me, home isn’t a place - it's in your heart with the people you love and call family. My family has been lucky enough to travel to many different places around the world including the Dominican, Jamaica and Mexico. Even though each place is very different and has a lot of cool, fun new things to do, it doesn’t feel any less like home. Each time we go away it still feels like home. I think it's because you're still spending the time with the people you love and creating memories that make you feel like home could be anywhere. I think my home will change as I get older because I will be spending time with different people - either at school or buying my own house and creating a family of my own. Christmas and other holidays will still be a very important time for me and my life, creating a place that feels like home. By-Cole Trahan Age 10 Grade 5 St. Joseph Catholic School Ms. O'Grady
