Being You- Being Free- Being Home

Most people say home is a building, A place you could be safe. With four walls surrounding you, And your very own space. But I don’t think so, It's much more than that, It’s a place I can be me Without any people judging me. When I walk in somewhere new, People take one look at me And decide if they like me Without a second thought. Even if they don’t know my personality! But at home, I can be myself. And that’s special to me However you think of me. It's hard to be myself When I know people can be judgy. I must become someone else, A different character, A different personality, And the only people that won't judge me That I can be who I want to be Are my two best friends And my family. And they truly feel like home to me. That’s when I found my home, In the laughter of my besties as they walk beside me Or in the smiles of my family as they watch me grow, Because home can be particular people. And when I am with these people, Wherever it is It will feel like home. You might never find your home, As sad as it could be. Because your home could be someone's house Or a street Or it can even be lost in the galaxy. So, you're lucky if you find your home Because you get the experience Of being you, Of being free, Of being home.
