Home

No matter where you are right now, think: what does home mean to you? Well it means a lot of things. Like for me it means cuddling with my mom watching TV, playing in the snow with my dog or playing video games with my dad. But what does home mean to you? Not all homes are the same. Everyone has a different home. Maybe it is crowded with family or just you with your mom, dad, grandma or grandpa. Maybe you have a dog, cat, fish, or snake. A big house or a little one. Your own room or maybe you share one with a brother or sister. But maybe it's more than just things. What if home also means feelings or senses. Smells like warm home cooked meals wafting from the kitchen, soaps and dogs. I feel the fluffiness of the blanket on my bed, cozy fur as I hug my dog when she goes to sleep, soft cream on my toes and legs right before I go to bed, ice on my knees after a long hard day of dance. Knowing when I come home I can relax and drift into happiness. Now for my home away from home? Well that's easy, it’s my Grandma's house. Now she is not your typical Grandma. She doesn't bake cookies that make my heart melt, instead she paints the most beautiful art I have ever seen. No matter what kind of day I'm having, once I go into her apartment and smell that Grandma smell I know all my worries will wash away into her arms and disappear. Of course, her drawings help with that too, flowing strokes with her pencil as she shows me how to draw anything a heart desires. What I'm trying to get at is there is no place like home, in the arms of the ones you love. The dictionary definition of home is “the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household” You can’t go wrong with that yeah maybe that needs a little change here and there but that pretty much sums it up. It is impossible to not feel delighted at the fact that this is where you are loved and people care about you there. Even if you live in a mansion or a van, Home is never perfect. What matters is that it’s perfect to you and home is where you feel safe.
