Meaning of Home

I have a medium house because I have a medium family of 6. My 2 sisters, my 1 brother, my mom and dad and well, me. The point of home is to have a warm safe place to go to. I think it is on the “top 5 things I really need to feel OK”. Think about it, you probably go to a nice house that is warm and has clean filtered water and a soft cozy bed. Does that sound somewhat like how you imagine your house? Now imagine you have to crawl up on the street, selling whatever you can to buy food and sometimes, only sometimes someone drops whatever change they happen to have in their pocket or a granola bar. How would you feel? Personally I do not really live near a lot of people who do not have a place to live so I don't really feel the guilt that other people feel when they walk by someone who doesn't have a house. (I live on a lonely street). Home is... whatever you need it to be. If you want your home to be a store then it can be a store. If you want it to be a restaurant then it can be a restaurant. It is a place to live with our families and pets and enjoy with friends. A place to build memories as well as a way to build future wealth. One question remains, what is home? I think of home as a place where you are comfortable, and feel as if you can be yourself. I think the way you design your home can be an expression of yourself and build a story through the colours and styles that you choose. In a novel we are reading a boy aged 13 and his mom kept on moving from house to apartment to a basement and so on but eventually his mom ran out of money and could not find a job so they moved into a van and then she ran out of her medication then fell onto a slump (what she calls when she gets really really depressed). So the boy had to take care of himself and they were still living in the van by October! The point is be grateful for the things and the living arrangement you have because it can go downhill for anyone.
