What Home Means to Me

For me home is a safe place to feel comfortable and be myself. A place where I don’t need to feel scared or insecure. A place where I'm me and nothing but me. Family, for me it wouldn't be home without family. My family is the reason for my success in life. If I didn't have my family I would have to say goodbye to Christmas morning where we open presents till noon and laugh all day. Going to camp and visiting family. I would have to say goodbye to dinner time where we have the most weird yet funny conversations. I would even have to say goodbye to family movie night when we watch the worst movies in the world but somehow still have a good time. Life wouldn’t be the same without family. Safety, safety is what makes me able to feel comfortable, com, and happy. Without these things my house would just not be a home. I know that so many people don’t get to feel safe in their home. So I am beyond grateful that I get to. Safety is when i can stay home alone without feeling scared, when i can use my kitchen stove and not feel like it's going to explode in my face. When I don't have to be afraid of spiders because i know dad already killed them all. When I'm home I know I'm safe. Memories, memories are a core piece to a home. They build a house into a home. I moved to my home just over a year ago and already it's a home. It feels like I've lived here forever. The walls in my home are filled with many pictures and memories we made in the past year. All the good and bad. My home may not be like other peoples homes but s what makes my home so special. Of course we have our bad days but that's ok we learn from them. One day everyone can experience the magic of my home.
