Meaning of Home
Home is made of many memories. It’s the time we spend together. Home is more than a building. It’s also the support and love we give each other.
Home is when family time happens. Love and warmth settle around me when I am with my family. At home we huddle around the tv like penguins and watch happy shows. Home is laughing when Dad falls asleep or when the character makes a joke!
Home is when we sit in the kitchen. Laughing, smiling, having fun while we make dinner . It could drag on forever but I would never get bored.
Home is not just a place. It's where you and your loved ones are. When I'm camping, I'm not at the place that I call home, yet I am. I'm probably not even in a building but I feel like I'm at home because I'm with loved ones. Home was never just a building and it never will be. It's where you feel at home.
Home is a place where I find love and support. Home is a place where I could cuddle with my family and believe that nothing bad could happen. It's a place where love is shown everyday. It's not always the words I love you. It's sometimes shown through actions like hugs or just simple laughs we share. It's a place where when we are scared or unsure someone is always there to help you, reassure and remind you that you are awesome.
Home is not a comforting place when everyone is just trying to afford a home. Taking the time and money to build moments together doesn't happen. That's why I feel that it is important that Habitat for Humanity keeps doing what it's doing. So that families can build homes and memories together.
