Meaning of Home
All my life home hasn’t been walls and furniture. I don’t like my home because of the TV and my bed room. I like my home because I am loved, valued and comforted.
When I am at home I feel loved. As I step through the door I’m surrounded by warm and loving hugs. Those who surround me support me even when I make mistakes. Every second I’m at home I absorb love like a sponge absorbs water. That love helps me stay positive during tough times. Love never ends and not a minute goes by where I don’t feel loved. Home is where love surrounds me and that will never change.
To me home is being valued. It’s where you feel important and respected. My family shows me that every day. At home you can dance and sing and no one will judge you. It’s where everyone is smiling and having a great time. Home is where you feel valued and when you’re valued you feel a part of something and everyone deserves to be appreciated.
Home is comfort. It could be something you hear or touch, or it could be a feeling like safety. When you're sitting on the couch watching a movie wrapped in a blanket you're not only cozy and warm but you feel protected and safe. Home is hearing the fire popping and crackling keeping you warm and calm. It’s cuddling with friends and family enjoying the time together. Home is where you're warm and safe but overall it’s where you feel comforted.
My home makes me feel loved, valued and comforted. I love that Habitat for Humanity is building affordable housing for low income families because I believe that everyone deserves the comfort of a home and the love of a house.
