Home to Me
Home is a place filled with comfort, warmth and family. It's not just a place, but it's also a feeling. It’s a feeling of being safe. It’s a place where you can relax and think of the opportunity you have to create something positive.
At home I feel cozy while being around people I love. They make me laugh and smile brightly. When I walk inside, I forget all my problems. I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings. My family will always welcome me with open arms no matter what.
Home is warm and fuzzy. I smell fresh steaming baked goods. I see sweet hot chocolate. Small marshmallows rise from the bottom while I sit at the fireplace with my family. Home is a place where I snuggle up and watch movies with my dad while eating warm, buttery popcorn. Comfort reminds me of home.
My family and I share a lot of laughs while watching the TV. We listen to our favorite songs. My mom and I like to make crafts together. My mom is the most helpful and positive person I’ve met. She understands if I’m upset and how to help. My dad is pushing. He helps me go out of my comfort zone and take a leap of faith. He reminds me that he’ll always be there for me no matter what. My brother Ian, is kind and generous. He comes to give me hugs when I come back from school. His hugs tell me that I’m loved and I’ll always be.
Overall, home is a place with people who support me. It's where I can be myself and feel warm and good inside. Home is secure, home is a place everyone needs. Habitat for Humanity builds homes with love, and everyone deserves love.
