HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS RIGHT? I am lucky I have a home

“Home is where the heart is” my mom says to me I never really knew what she meant Until the heat in my house stops working A light in my soul had turned off “What do we do” I ask “We are going to move for the night” my mom replies I lie on the floor thinking of all the worst possibilities What if it becomes permanent? I thought What if the reserve vacations end and we have to live on the street Soon it was time to go to the new place I feel empty all night Finally it was time to go home When I get in the car my mom asks why i’m frowning I miss home I miss the scent of a mysterious food in the kitchen I miss the scent of my dog in my room I said quietly We're at home as long as we are together My mom says Once we arrive I hug my furniture And do snow angels on the floor I feel happy again its like a light in my soul turned back on Take It From Me Home Is Where The Heart Is Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping people who need homes
