What Home Really Means

Have you ever thought about what home really means? Most people think a home is just a house, but to me it's much more than that. Home means family and family means love. Home is where I feel safe; it's a place where I can be myself and no one cares. I can sleep when I need to and I like the quietness. It's the smell of my parents cooking Fettuccine Alfredo after a long day of school. My parents work hard to provide me with a loving and caring home filled with things like clothes, shoes and my astronaut nightlight. My dad takes me to my rep soccer practices and games when my mom is at work. Sometimes they both come or she stays home with my little brother. Either way, I know I am important and supported. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day I think about my home and my family and it makes me feel better. It doesn't matter how big or small my home is or what’s inside, it is about the people who care about me, and I love my home just the way it is.
