What Home Means to Me

A home is very different from a house, and I will tell you why. First, a home has memories, love, joy, and family; it’s not just a building or structure that you live in. It is your home where you can live with your family, friends, and pets. Second, in your home, you do not just live, but love, spend time with family and friends, cook meals, play games, tell stories, and have fun. Next, if you have a home, you will always have somewhere to come back to. My dad always goes back to his childhood home for dinners, and I will do the same when I am older. In a home, you can hear the sound of your loved ones—all the laughs and all the tears. In a home, you can feel the coziness, the love from others, the joy, and lastly, the feeling of people who love you so much. In a home, you can have your own personal space—a place where you can pick the paint colour or the posters on the wall. In a home, you can smell and hear the beautiful nature that is just outside the window. In a home, you can see the joy, the laughter, and the love that flows through. In a home, you can remember the memories that you make. If you have a home, you are very lucky because there are people in this world who do not have a home. A home does not have to be a house; it is a place of love and safety. A home can be any size; it is the people inside close to you that make it a home. I am so lucky that I have a home and people whom I love.
