If home were the 4 seasons
Summer
The clear blue skies where the birds soar together in unison. The green blades of grass on my front yard that I play on. Mornings when we go to the dock and fish. The afternoons when we eat ice cream while watching the glamorous sunsets. The magical nights with the fireflies lighting up the way home. In summer, home is watching the sunsets with fireflies and playing outside.
Autumn
The paths of orange leaves being formed by the trees. The birds are still in the sky but they’re changing direction and migrating. Halloween is coming, I always liked dressing in costumes and carving funny faces into pumpkins with friends. After Halloween, Thanksgiving arrived. We ate duck instead of turkey. But we still celebrated by playing until bedtime.
During autumn home is a time of reunion for families and to celebrate.
Winter
Most of the leaves now have shriveled up or fallen, there’re still some hanging on to the barren trees. The birds have been long gone by now but they will return. Christmas is arriving, a time for the giving. My family and I always exchange gifts. After christmas new years is here a time of beginnings and change. In winter home is about the holidays and family.
Spring
A time for a fresh start, flowers start blooming, leaves are growing and the harsh winter is fading. The birds returned from the south and insects are waking up . I see butterflies and ladybugs taking off for the first time since fall. In spring home was a time for a fresh start.
The reason I wrote about the four seasons is my experience. LIke migrating birds, my parents and I have lived in three countries. Each time we changed houses they were different, but my home never changed. Home is where my heart lives
