My Meaning of Home

Home is a place but it moves. It moves with my family, and it moves with my friends. It could be anywhere. It does not matter where it is. It could be at my house, my friend's house, or even at school. Home can be felt, it is stable, and it is safe. A home is something that can be felt, and it is anywhere that makes you feel cozy, safe, and loved. Like a hug from your parents or falling asleep in bed with your favourite blanket. Home is like some comfy pajamas. You are cozy and you feel safe. To me, if home was a sound, it would be my friends and family talking. If home was a taste, it would be my favourite chocolate (Caramilk). If home were a smell it would be my kitchen while my mom and sister were baking a pastry. If home was a texture, it would be the world's softest blanket. If home were a sight it would be impossible to describe, kind of like a fantasy world. A home does not always have to look like brick walls, it can look like the most amazing sunset, some beautiful rainbows, or a sturdy tree. A home can be sturdy like a tree is to a squirrel. Even though the seasons change and the leaves fall, I still have a sturdy home. Even when the tree is swaying back and forth, you still have your roots. Your roots give you strength and stability. Your home, like a tree, will sometimes fall, but you can always find another one wherever you are. Even if the tree is rotten, or if it gets cut down, you can still find another one. One more thing that makes my home like a tree is that the sturdy branches can be homes to other people. Even if you are sharing it with someone, it will always be yours and theirs at the same time. Home is wherever you feel safe. Like armor, it protects you. People in your home are like your favourite pet, they calm you down and protect you. They are there for you and help you through the hard times and the times when you are hurting. My family supports me and helps me, so that is why home can be anywhere. If you do not have a house, it does not change the fact that you have a home. No matter where you are, you have a home. Even if I did not have a house, I would still have a home as long as someone I love, like my family is there. Someone can have a house, but maybe it is not a home because their loved ones are not there, or they do not feel safe. You can not be forced to make something your home. It is important to know if your house is a home or not so that you can make it one if you need to. Home is not always physical, but it can be felt, give you strength, and safety. That is what home means to me and why I love my home. I will never want a different home because I already have the best one I could have ever wished for.
