What is home…?

Home is the place that keeps me safe and gives me a roof and a window to watch my dogs play with a chewed up toy pig. I think of Home as the place where I smell all the steak my dad makes and the sour dough bread my mom bakes. I love home when I have my grandparents over and have family Christmas almost every year. Home feels like home when the hockey game is on in the background well im falling asleep and here the whistle blowing deep. Home feels like playing board games with my family when the power goes out and playing open the box, math match and almost every other game. Home is what feels like the perfect life you imagine in your head and then you start thinking to yourself “why do I need to change it” already feels perfect. Home is the place I feel more safe than anywhere else, especially my room. My room is the place I feel safe the most because usually I have the lights off a bunch of cozy blankets and my kitten in my room and all those make me feel safe. Home is like playing out in the snow with my siblings and building snow forts and snowmen while my parents record us for memories and put it on our digital picture frame with all of our old and new memories on. My personal favourite thing about home is always waking up and seeing my family safe and smelling the breakfast my parents made. I love home because of all those reasons and many many more but when me and my family are in the car all singing then life hits differently. That is what I love about my house and next year there will be many more.
