Meaning of Home

For many people, home is just a place, but to me it’s a feeling. Home is a feeling of safety that comes from being with the people I love. Home is the little things I don’t always notice but that if lost I wouldn’t feel whole. My home is the place where I grow up and where I am supported through many ups and downs, whether I bring home a good or cry over missed assignments, it’s the place where I drift peacefully off and, on the weekends, wake up to the comforting smell of fresh pancakes and bacon cooking on the stove. Home is where I have celebrated 12 birthdays. It’s where I first saw my grandparents and was introduced to my brother. Home is a place where everything is calm and peaceful, where I can think without being interrupted. Home is where I can rest and relax without constant pressure to perform. My room is my retreat and my home is my sanctuary. My home is a place where we are all equal and respected. I love my home and I’m very grateful that Habitat For Humanity helps families build homes where other children can also feel love, safety and peace
