Home is Not Just Walls and Floors

Home is where I feel at peace. A place where it’s judgment free. Here is the kitchen where my mother cooks for me. Before it was in Nigeria, but now we enjoy the flavors here in Canada. It is a space where you never want to leave. It’s an area where I laugh out loud and I don't have to pretend or act so proud. Memories resting on picture frames, holding pieces of our past life with our extended family. When the day grows heavy, home is finally where I exhale. It's the heart around you, unseen and unfelt, yet deeply adored. Just like how your family gives you safety and protection wrapped in love and care.It is the trust built within your household. Why would you want to leave a place like this? And that is what home means to me.
