Meaning Of Home
Meaning Of Home
By Sydney Mathies Gr. 4 Burlington ON
Home is not just a physical structure, home isn’t what's on the inside or out, home is what lives inside it like your family and your loved ones. Home can mean different things for different people.
What home means to me is to feel safe. Safe meaning that you feel like coming home after school, or being able to talk to your parents about things that you don’t feel comfortable talking about with anyone else. Home is also where you feel loved by your family. You should ALWAYS feel loved because your parents always love you, even if they're mad or angry with you. When you are at home you also feel cared for. You ARE cared for. Sometimes you might not FEEL cared for, but you are. Home is also where you make memories. Memories can be of anything! In your home you should feel grateful for having a home and having a warm safe place to live. Home is also where you should feel happy. It's where happiness thrives! Home is where it is okay to feel emotional. You can feel happy, sad and lots of other emotions. You can feel happy when you get a new sibling or you can feel sad when you have to move away. At home you should always feel included. If you don’t feel included, then you should try talking to your parents, siblings or another trusted adult.
At home I always try to feel grateful for what I have and not focus on what I don’t have. If you aren’t grateful for what you have, you might start to get a little bit sad, mad or angry. That‘s why home is more than just a physical structure, it’s where your family THRIVES!
