A Letter to My Home

Dear Home, You are the place that I will live in that my family will stay in. On old winter days my home protects me from the freezing breeze that wants to get to me and my family. It’s like my home is a part of my family. On family game nights we gather together in the living room to play games like chess, snakes and ladders and others. After the game, my mom and I cook rice and beans that family members can smell miles and miles away. When the food is ready we go to the table and my mom puts on music. It’s like a thanksgiving feast. The kitchen is filled with smiles brighter than the sun. Laughter spreads across the room like there is no tomorrow. After that we gather in the living room and we watch scary movies like Saw and Truth or Dare. Before the movie starts we set up a candy and snack station like Sour Patch and Toxic Waste and chips and we get to have slushy’s. You are the best. Thank you for letting me stay in you and for protecting me and my family. Love, Malika
