What home means to me

To me home means that you can express yourself and your feelings. Home means you don’t have to be scared because there are people around you that make you feel comfortable, safe and like you belong there. I can say I feel at home even if I am at a friend's house or with people who make me feel welcome. Home is with people who bring me joy. Home is more than just walls and rooms with addresses. It isn't just a space or how big it is, home is the sound of familiar voices. Home is belonging. Home is waking up on the weekend to my mom cooking my favourite meal. Home is the people around me, home is where my family and I create memories that will always be with us. Home to me is feeling and being understood. Home allows me to relax when I need to. Home is where I can speak a different language and people will understand and where you can celebrate different cultures and nobody judges you. Home gives you a new chapter in your life. Home is where I grew up. Home is a place where I have all I need: water, food, shelter and my family. Home is a place where I can share my identity because I feel comfortable. Home is where you can find my family because my home is my family.
