Home

I know I’m home when I open the cold doorknob and peace washes over me. I hear my dog barking happily waiting for me. Home has lots of shelter. Home is not just a house; it has every piece put together with care. My favorite place is my room, all of my memories are there. I sink into my bed gently. I feel the covers on my body. I feel safe, I know that not everybody has a home so I’m very grateful. Home is like an oasis sheltering you from the heat, and it helps you not feel so deserted all the time. Every picture on the wall tells a story, some happy, some sad. Home is a safe place. It shelters you from the cold at night, and in the day, a new adventure awaits. Home is just like the story of my life. All of the chapters and pages each have a new adventure. Every home is different, just like people and personalities. Home holds personalities. Home is where memories are created. Dents in the wall, dust from many years ago. Nobody else has a home like yours. I walk outside, the snow is falling gently and the breeze is tickling my cheeks and playing with my hair. I gaze up. Home is so important to me. I walk out a little further, I see my whole home and I can almost see the memories inside. I know I can count on home. Home is important to me. Home is important to everyone, that’s why we need to help the people who don’t have a home to count on.
