Home Isn't Just a Word

To me, home isn’t just a word, nor a place to shelter us from bad weather. It's a place where our family is. Where we are protected from the bad words, the bullies and most of the time negativity because we all have bad fights. Home is a place where you can mess up a sentence and laugh with your family, when you are in a rough patch. There are always words of comfort. It’s not just a word because people make up words and we just speak them, but home is a real place, where you can see the world in your own eyes, not in the eyes of school where you need to pay attention, in your eyes which can be through art or a sport or anything really. In my home I can smell the scent of cooking in the kitchen, a place where I can hear the sounds of my siblings fighting and the sounds of their brains rotting (not literally) while they play on electronics. I can feel the touch of my parents as they comfort me on a bad day. I can taste the brilliant cooking my dad makes but yet sometimes I complain… Anyway, home is a place where I can be myself and feel my own emotions, a thing that a little word can’t describe. To me home is a place where I can laze in my room for HOURS and be annoyed when someone bothers me. And I get yelled at for not cleaning my room. But most importantly it's not just a word because when I say a word I just say it with maybe a little emotion but sometimes home, it can be emotion. So overall to me home is a place of comfort and encouragement.
