A Feeling that Follows Me

The meaning of home is more than just a house, it is a safe place of love, laughter, and comfort. My day starts when I wake up to my little brother asking me to play Roblox. When I walk down the stairs, I smell the delicious scent of eggs and bacon. One of my favorite parts of the day is supper with my family, enjoying fresh food and the lovely stories we share. When it is time for bed, my mom and dad tuck me in and kiss my forehead while my cat curls up to sleep with me. Home is an anchor where I can truly be myself. It is a place where I can say something funny and have everyone cracking up. Home is also a place where I can feel down, knowing my family will always pick me back up. Even when we don’t get along, I am thankful that we always make up. To me, home is like a big blanket that fills my heart with warmth. It is a feeling of peace, even when my brother "crashes out!" Moving houses can be hard, but the feeling of home always follows me. It is a sanctuary of belonging and a place where dreams begin. Home is never perfect, but it is a place I can always trust. It is hard to explain the meaning of home to someone else, because only you know exactly how your home feels.
