The Meaning of Home

Some people have a house with furniture and rooms, but not all people have a home where family is and where love and happiness is. And I am so grateful for the caring and loving family that I have. The sound in my house is the laughter and joy on Christmas and on New Year's Eve. And the sound of me and the sound of my family cheering me on in a baseball game. The sound of me and my friends laughing and having fun and talking non stop. The smell in my house is when my nan and pop make Christmas dinner. And when me and my sisters, my mom and my nan make Christmas cookies every year. The sound of me and my friends laughing and having fun and talking non stop at sleepovers. The sound of my family cheering me on at a baseball game. What I see in my house is my family growing up and having fun. I also see the joy and laughter on New Year's Eve. I see everyone around the table on Thanksgiving. The feeling in my home is when we are all having fun and Christmas eve. The feeling of me and my dog and cat cuddled up on my bed. The feeling of me and my friends growing up together. The taste of my mom's and dad's cooking and when my friends bring over candy for a sleepover the taste of Christmas cookies on Christmas day with my cousins at my nan's and pop's house That's why I'm thankful for Habitat for Humanity for making people's houses feel like a home.
