Meaning of Home

When someone asks what home means to you, people may just guess the obvious and say ‘it would be your house!’, but home can mean much more than that. Home isn't always where you live physically, but can often be a place that your heart feels linked and comforted by. You see, every person has their own definition of ‘Home’ to them. It's like everyone is their own little sailor: Many people may park their boat at the same place, resembling a majority of people finding comfort in similar places, though others may have their own little dock to park themselves at. What I am saying is that everyone has their own little meaning of ‘Home’ marked inside of their brain! For example, in my brain, home is being around the people I care for most. This goes for some of my best friends, who have been there when no one else has and my parents, who have stayed strong when life was hard. I think this way for myself because of how I am. Many people have looked at me as the weird girl, the one who stands out in a crowd, or maybe just the girl who is ‘Different.’ For many years of my life, those names and labels stuck with me, mainly because of my interests and style. One day in January, 2025, I had lost some of my friends due to rumors and knew I had to start over. That was also the year I had found myself some of the people who mean the most to me, like my best friend. So when someone asks me ‘What does home mean to YOU?’ That is my answer, thank you for reading.
