My Happy Place
My home is my happy place. My happy place is my home.
You might think that my home is my house, but that’s not all it is.
Home to me, is anything that makes me feel safe and loved.
Anything can include so many different things.
Perhaps my home is my house, with the wooden floors and cozy vibes.
Perhaps my home is the people that I share my house with, my mom with her strict rules and cozy knitting, my little sister with her annoying but sweet habits, and my dad with his embarrassing dad jokes and late-night card games.
You might say that my home is anywhere from the field, to the court, to the pool.
Perhaps my home is my friends, kind and supportive.
Likely, there are many things that you call your home. Your home could be similar to mine, or completely different. Your home can be anything that makes you feel cherished and protected, like you deserve to be.
Another thing that I call my home is my happy place, because anything that makes me happy deserves to be recognized.
Can you picture your happy place? To me, my happy place is everything that I’ve already talked about, and so much more.
Even though I already have a home, a happy place, this essay has really helped me fully appreciate what I have. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for helping me and so many others find their happy place.
