Home

Home is not just a physical place; it’s shaped by what’s in it, like the smell of toast in the morning or all the movies we have watched on Friday nights. Home is somewhere I know I will not be judged and I will fit in no matter what. It is also shaped by all the memories we have made in it, like all the times my mom and I have laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Home is somewhere you can always feel safe, no matter what. Home does not have to be perfect; it can be messy and loud. But no matter what, home will always be home, and you will feel loved no matter what. When I walk into my home, sometimes I smell my dad’s cooking. It brings me joy because I know there will be his amazing food on the table. Every Christmas, my family and I make these delicious cookies. It makes me so happy because I know I am with my family, and I’m home! Home can be different for everyone, but for me, it’s the best. Whatever happens, home will always be home, and I know I will belong there no matter what!
