Home is Where My Greatest Treasure Is

A house can look empty, but a home is never empty. It's full of the laughter we share at the dinner table and the screams of me and my sister when we are watching a scary movie. Our home can be relaxing too, like when we snuggle in bed and listen to my dad read. Our cherished memories are woven into my special blanket that I use when we sit together on our couch and watch a movie. Home is where my parents guide me through thick and thin and help me learn to take my first steps and eat my first bites of food. Home is where I wake up knowing I’m safe in my own bed in my own house with my loving parents that care about me and tell me stories of when they were young and help me make my own stories to tell. Magic doesn’t exist in a house but in a home it does; the magic of how a single hug makes you feel better Instantly, and the magic of how a simple dinner at the table makes you feel part of a great environment and bonded with your loved ones. A home is full of little treasures that may not seem like much, but they make our family unique and special. I am thankful for habitat for humanity, for committing their lives to help others have a safe and supportive home with the people they love and help people customize their house to make it their own.
