My homes

Where is my home? Is it in Japan where I spend my summers helping my grandparents grow my favorite tomatoes, corns and cucumbers? Is it in Hong Kong where my mom introduced me to her hometown and my now best loved ice creams, chips and curry fish balls? Or is it in Canada where I was born and raised, and am surrounded by family and friends. I didn’t know where my home was. In each of my homes, there is joy, warmth, love and possibility. Joy is when my brother and I build a city out of different toys in the playroom. Warmth is when my mom cooks healthy food for everyone. Love is when we gather together and chat before bedtime. Possibility is when we all work hard and support each other to make our dreams come true. Wherever I find joy, warmth, love and possibility, is where I feel at home. My home at this moment may be in Canada, but it can be in Japan or Hong Kong. And in the future, maybe it will be in yet a different place… As long as I can feel joy, warmth, love and possibility.
