A Home

A Home When I walk through the door the smell of fresh sourdough greets me, I'm met with a warm cuddle from my hairless cat. After I set him down I go “snack shopping” .I think of how some kids do not get this privilege. To me a home is more than a house, while it's good to have a house a home is 100X better. My home is a place where I can be loved, hugged and appreciated, when I'm at home I feel safe and secure. I feel as though even the toughest things can take me down, I feel a warm embrace each time I lie in bed. I remember how some kids may not have this delightful experience and should be grateful. I look out the window, watching other kids play on the trampoline on the other side of the street. I notice the safety hazards and see that my parents are always just trying to protect us. My bathroom has the soft aroma of flowers and conditioner. I notice that my bathroom is actually pretty clean and others do not have the privilege of a clean and nice smelling bathroom. As I go to my bedroom I think of all the privileges I have like my two TVs, I have my own room, an extra room that attaches to it. I think of how a small room that they have to share, no closet, no two TVs. I feel privileged with all my clothes, I notice that there are clothes that I may give away to children in need of all of that. While having all of this is good I must see that others are struggling and I must do the best I can to help children in need. Thank you so much! -Luna
