The warmth of home

The meaning of home is different for everyone. Some people think of home as a building, others may think of it as where you have a roof over your head, or where you keep your personal belongings, etc. I believe that home is where your family is, where you feel safe, and you belong. It can mean so many things; I didn’t always know the meaning of it, though. I used the dictionary, asked others….until I thought about where I felt safe, and understood. Now I understand the feeling of being at home. At home, I don’t have to be afraid of being myself, my unique, weird, crazy self, because I feel accepted and loved. Although, I would have never found out what home means to me if I didn’t know how I felt inside my home. When I am at home I feel all cozy and bundled up inside, calm and relaxed, but at the same time free and energetic! When I am at home all of my worries just fly away, and I forget all about why I was all scrunched up inside before. But most importantly I am happy, because my home is where my family is, and that is what brings me true happiness. I want to give a special thanks to Habitat for Humanity. With your help, so many families can feel the warmth of having shelter, giving them more time to figure out that their home is right in front of them, their family is their true home.
