What Is A Home?

Home is a place where you look forward to going after school. It's somewhere you feel safe, somewhere you don't have to be afraid. They ask me “what does your house look like?” I just think of my yellow house lying in the middle of a grassy field. Then they ask me what I like to do in my home. I think of the vivid picture in head of my couch I'd watch tv on with my Dad, the board games me and my family would laugh playing together on New Years Eve waiting for the clock to hit 12:00, spending every second we can together. I think of the fresh smell of chocolate chip cookies my mom bakes and me lying in that grassy field looking up at the stars trying to find the milky way and the big dipper. Home, the place I think of when I need to take a rest or tell someone what I'm feeling. The feel of my cats and dogs soft fur. Throwing snowballs with my siblings laughing, going on the ski doo singing in my helmet riding on the snowy trails, then going home to curl up in my warm blanket with a show on me and my mom watch together. Sometimes, home is the place where you feel safe expressing yourself in the way you should. Laughing, spending time together and making good memories you will never forget and cherish forever wishing you could live over and over and over again. That’s what a home is: somewhere you would want to spend every second with your loving and caring family. So it's not the walls that are around you, its the people who are inside those walls.
