The Difference Between a House and a Home

A house is a structure made for living in. It has all the stuff you chose to keep in it, but in the end a house is just a house and it doesn’t become a home until people live in it and create their own versions of a home. A home is a place where you feel accepted and loved. A place where you are cared for, a place where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, knowing you won’t be judged...a comfort zone. Some people may have not found a place to call home yet, but there will always be a place to call home in the end. It might be a friend’s house or your Grandma’s house or anywhere you feel special and prioritized. You can buy a house. You create a home. A house stands because it was constructed well. A home stands because the people inside it choose each other, every day. In the end, a house is where you live. A home is where you belong. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for giving people a chance to create their own versions of a Home.
