Home is My Happy Place
If home was a sight it would look like a cold snowy day, while me and my family sit around the fireplace with heated blankets. Laughing while watching tv and sipping the warmest hot chocolate with the fluffiest marshmallows.
If home was a smell it would smell like two things. One, the house smelling like it’s about to go up in flames, because me and my brother burnt something badly or two fresh out the oven red velvet cupcakes, my mom and I love to bake in the winter.
If home was a touch it would feel like sitting in the hot tub with the jets on full blast. The temperature would be as hot as a fire breathing dragon at 104 degrees Fahrenheit. After we got inside, we would be greeted by our comforting heated floors.
If home was a sound it would sound like a concert because my grandparents were blasting the while watching their show. My home also sounds like the laughter of my family playing games on birthdays, Christmas Eve parties, New Year’s and all the other holidays. Finally, it would sound like my 15-year-old brother screaming, because he lost a match in Fortnite. It’s so funny because he screams like a 5-year-old girl and my mom yells at him.
If home was a taste it would taste like warm buttered popcorn, because my family and I love to watch movies in our basement on our projector every weekend. I mostly pick all the movies but sometimes we like to switch things up and let my parents or my brother pick. We like to watch our movies with blankets and pillows and turn the heat up. That's what home feels like to me, and I hope that home feels special to you too.
