The Moving Home

Every house looks different, no home feels the same but some things make us feel different, like we’re safe at home again Creeping through a new house, all empty and sad but I look around I see my family, and suddenly I’m glad I see the memories we’ve made before, it kind of makes me angry, but I remember I can make many more and that feeling soothes me I walk into my new room, it doesn’t look like it did before but as I put my dreamcatcher on the wall, I don’t feel as bad anymore My family doesn’t seem fazed by all these newly painted walls, I don’t understand how they adapt so quickly while all I could do was bawl I miss my friends, I miss my home, I wish we never left- but I saw my family playing games so the tears were quickly swept Many emotions swirl inside me, some I cannot explain, I feel great and horrible at the same time, trying to make the nostalgia sustain Every day feels a little better, as new friends come and go, and I soon realize this new house is now my home Although my home feels different now, my memories are still the same, and I’m excited to now make many more and feel at home again
