What Home Means to Me

My home is not just a place. My home is where I feel safe and cared for. My home is where I can come home from school and flop into bed and lay there. My home is where I can wake up every morning with a warm greeting. My home is where I feel I belong, and I feel like I can do anything without judgement. My home is where I make memories with my loved ones. My home is where I have my dog, Lucy. My home is where I have my hairless cat, Phillip. My home is where I have all the people I love, but my dad works away. I can still Facetime him every night. A house is not a home; a house is just a building you live in. A house can change. A house has possibility. A house does not feel the same as a home. A house is not a home; a home is where you have everything you need. That is what home means to me.
