Home isn't just a place
Home is not just a place; it is where my memories live and where new ones are created. When I think about home, I think about my family, my dog, and the sports we play together. My home is my favorite place because it is filled with laughter and love.
My home would not be the same without my dog, Marty. Every day when I walk through the door, he is waiting for me, wagging his tail. I cannot imagine life without him. One of our favorite games is “Marty Tackle Football.” My family and I throw the ball around, and Marty actually tries to tackle me. It always makes us laugh. Even though he is playful, he can also be a couch potato. He stretches out on the couch and refuses to move from his comfortable spot.
I also enjoy playing games with my family. My favorite board game is Ticket to Ride. During COVID, we played it all the time. I was usually partnered with my dad, and we would sit on the old bench at the dinner table, planning our moves and trying to win. We also love watching movies together, and Marty always curls up next to me.
Sports are another big part of my life at home. I like creating mini sports challenges and playing basketball on the mini hoop in the basement with my brothers. Once, my brother dunked so hard that he broke it. We also play football and tennis whenever we can.
To me, home means family, Marty, and sports—a place where I feel safe, happy, and welcome.
