What Home Means to Me
Home is a funny word that can be really confusing sometimes, it can mean a house or sometimes it's a person but one thing that is not confusing is that home is important and everyone should be able to have a place to call home. Some things that make home for me are my moms baking, my sister's uggs tapping around the house, and my dads extremely stinky farts and without those home, just, isn’t home.
Home has a million meanings for me it can mean friends, family, pets, or coaches, maybe even a classroom family. But one has always stood out for me home is. Every single one of them they all have one thing in common they love me through and through.
When I am at home I can feel all my big beautiful emotions, I can laugh at my dads terrible jokes and play barbies with Elsie, or watch a scary movie with my mom and cuddle with my dog. At home I don't have to worry about how perfect my slick back is or how much pizza sauce is on my face from lunch, home is safe and protected.
I have lived in two houses but no houses have ever been my home. Home is either on my dads lap or in my moms arms. Those are home for me. And home can mean other things for other people and that’s perfect for them and my home is perfect for me.
This is why I am so thankful for Habitat for Humanity. They make it so everyone has a big beautiful home. Even though the house isn't always home, they can make it easier to feel it.
So home can be crazy or calm, happy or sad but home has always been LOVE For me.
