Sister's aren't just people
Do you have a sister? I do, and I love her more than I probably could say out loud. She is one of the biggest reasons I try to be better every day. Even when she is not around, she inspires me to work hard, stay active, and not waste my time. My home is the reason I feel safe, welcomed, supported, and happy, and my sister is a big part of why it feels that way.
My sister’s name is Soul. She does not live with us anymore, and that can be hard sometimes. My brother and I miss her a lot. But whenever she walks through the door, everything feels complete again. We used to live in an apartment when she visited, and now we have a newly renovated house. I cannot wait for her to see it because I know she will smile and say she is proud of us. She is a nurse and recently finished her practice tests. Seeing her work so hard teaches me that success comes from effort and patience. Her boyfriend, Max, is also very kind to us, which makes her visits even better.
The best part about her coming over is the time we spend together. We laugh while playing games, like riding scooters and tossing tennis balls, or building towns in Catan. But what really matters is not the game itself. It is the laughter, the teamwork, and the feeling that we belong together.
One time, she surprised us by picking us up early from school. We went rock climbing and then saw a Spider-Man movie with lots of snacks. I will never forget that day. Having a sister means having a forever friend, and that is something truly special.
