My Three Homes
Home to me is England, Greece and Toronto. I was born in Toronto and then moved to England. When I was about five I moved to Greece. When I started Grade One I moved back to Toronto. One object that reminds me of my Greece home is a basketball jersey that says Giannis Antetokounmpo on the back. I chose this object because I always used to wear it when I lived in Greece. I loved basketball so much, and I used to think I was just like him.
There was this mini hoop at a park near my house and I used to run there every day holding my basketball in my right arm. I was always asking my mom if we could go there, and sometimes she said no. But sometimes she said yes, and every time she said yes I was very happy. When I got there, I couldn't make one shot, so every day I tried and tried and tried until I made a shot.
When we were coming home from Greece, there was a basketball court in my new backyard. I was really happy that I had a court, but I was also happy that my dad and mom played with me in the backyard. One time I said to my mom, “I wish I had a brother to play with us.” My mom said, “guess what, you’re going to have a brother soon,” and I was so happy .
I waited a little while later when my brother came out. I had to wait a couple years until I could play with him. After all those years later I could finally play with him. Somedays we wanted to stay inside, but some days we wanted to play outside and play all day. When I heard I was getting a third brother I was so happy, but I still can't play with him because he is still too young now. I have three homes and I love them all so much.
