Meaning of Home- Why is Habitat for Humanity Important?
Habitat For Humanity is important for the world. Habitat For Humanity is a non-profit, Christian organization. Non-profit means that they are working, not for money but for families to be safe and happy. Its main idea is to build homes for families in need. They build safe, decent, and affordable houses so that people and families can live comfortably. They are especially important because it think that everyone should have a place to safely rest their head under a stable roof. Habitat For Humanity runs in over seventy countries and across Canada. The reason Habitat for Humanity is operating is because of the housing crisis. Houses these days are getting too expensive for people. Volunteers, workers, and the family that is receiving the house all helps to build the house. Habitat For Humanity has helped over sixty-five million people globally. They have raised 9.3 million dollars in direct donations, and 11.8 million dollars in goods. Direct donations are money that companies or people would give Habitat for Humanity, while goods are things like building materials and things for the families, for an example, hygiene products, kitchen appliances, clothing, and food. Not only were they given a home but a new perspective, which is proven because kids that are gifted a home improved their grades. They improved their grades because they had a stable home, and that is pretty impressive. Most importantly they help people and families get a better life. Habitat For Humanity has also helped the Indigenous peoples. They helped by building more houses on the Indigenous reserves to help with overcrowding. They also teach the youth how to build and maintain a house as well as life skills. That is why Habitat for Humanity should keep working because it is beneficial for our communities and all the people in it.
