What Does Home Mean to Me
It was 8:00 in the morning, I woke up from a pleasant dream to welcome myself to my mom’s cooking aromas. The scent of her spicy and comforting food wrapped me around like a warm blanket. I sat watching in awe, as I saw the gorgeous, glistening snow in the city landscape while listening to the melodious chirps of the birds in the distance. Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice calling my name, I opened my eyes and turned around to see that reality had crashed right in. My parents were yelling at me, my sister hadn’t woken up and it was all just total chaos!
Home to me is a tornado of feelings and emotions! It is a place of safety, joy, anger, stress, sadness, enjoyment and most importantly love! Home represents comfort, when I come home from a snowy day and drink hot chocolate. Home represents security as I feel a sense of safety and belonging. Home represents chaos when me and my sister are fighting over silly things. Home feels like a court room when me and my parents argue on a certain topic, but in the end we always come together and fight for each other. Home is a place of honesty. Accomplishments and making mistakes are an essential part of life and my home allows me to freely share these things without any concern, and improve myself day by day. In my home, everyone's highs and lows are significant. Me and my family celebrate each other's highs and are together during their lows.
In the end, it doesn’t matter how big or small my house is, what truly matters is the people that make my house feel like home.
